About Us

We are a group of people that are crazy about  birds. But first I will start off telling you a little about myself. I have been around birds my whole life. I have always been very intersted in them. I grew up with a double yellow headed amazon named Charlie. He is one of our educational presentation bird for the rescue. I also have other presentation birds that stay here in the rescue with us also. They are all rescues that have been worked with and conditioned to be educational birds.

Over the years, with reseach, being around the birds, and working with them I have learned about behavioral issues, nutritional needs, illnesses, diseases, physical and psychological trauma. We do offer a sanctuary here at the rescue if we feel that a bird needs to stay with us. They are welcome to spend the rest of there life with us if needed. We always try our best to rehabilitate birds so they are able to find there forever loving home.

Our goal in the future is to become a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. That is what we are working on with fundraisers. The rescue is completely funded out of our pockets and through donations.

We do try to educate people on how to deal with behavioral issues and give lots of training advice. We will make special trips to homes to help with any issues. Our goal is to try to help people so they can keep there birds, not surrender them. All of the training is done by positive reinforcement, but we do understand sometimes surrending is the only option. Here at The Wings of Love Parrot Rescue we don't criticize or judge people. We just want to help the birds and help the people that want the best for these birds.
